Squaw Valley Opens for Roller Skating and Summer Activities This Friday
Squaw Valley, CA – As brilliant blue skies and warm temperatures return to the Sierras, Squaw Valley USA staffers are preparing to open the California ski and snowboard resort for summer operations this Friday even though one opportunity to ski and ride Squaw remains to come next month. This summer brings the return of mountaintop roller skating to the mountain as well as a host of other activities including mountaintop paintball, disc golf, hiking, scenic Cable Car rides and the High Camp Pool and Hot Tub with incredible views of Lake Tahoe.
This summer, roller skating will return to High Camp for the first time since the summer of 2008 at the High Camp Roller Rink, known as the Olympic Ice Pavilion in the resort’s winter months. Roller skating will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under with all tickets including traditional quad roller skate rentals. Accessed via the resort’s aerial Cable Car, the High Camp Roller Rink overlooks beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada from an elevation of 8,200 feet. The High Camp Roller Rink will be open daily starting June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended operations on weekends in July and August.
